Adri Larsen (she/her) came into the counseling field after she was an established professional in the corporate marketing world, and had started her own family. Adri’s life experiences and personal multi-intersectionalities keeps her grounded in the knowledge that everyone’s story is unique and non-linear. everyone comes to counseling from a unique place, it is vital that the client and counselor build a strong therapeutic relationship built on safety, trust and hope. Adri considers it a privilege to be able to walk with someone through their fears, challenges, and hurts, and help them experience healing and restoration.

Adri’s goal is to establish a strong therapeutic container for her clients, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. Adri believes meaningful growth and change can happen when people feel they are heard, seen and understood. Adris sees counseling as an opportunity to help people thrive and live at their highest potential. Through counseling, we can diminish pain and suffering, cope with the challenges of life (both normal and extraordinary), and experience increased joy, purpose, and self-acceptance.

Adri enjoy’s working with client’s across the lifespan. She has a clinical focus of working with children, adolescents, teens, young adults and their families and helping them navigate the already challenging process of normal growth and development. She can help navigate with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relational trauma, career challenges and leveling up, and interpersonal and attachment challenges. Adrienjoys working with diverse and multicultural populations and prioritizes her continuing education to be a safe practitioner for people of color (POC), LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent (ND) individuals.

All the therapy that Adri Larsen practices is evidenced-based and is designed to be empowering, with a focus on de-pathologizing the person.

Adri’s experience

Adri is a board certified, National Certified Counselor (NCC). She graduated with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling , and her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Denver. Adri has been trained as a trauma focused generalist and works with clients across the lifespan. She has advanced skills and training in the areas of trauma (at all ages) and relational attachment (applies to family and couples work) and play therapy. In addition to her graduate work, Adri has completed play therapy specific instruction and supervision.

Adri practices through a humanistic and integrative approach to counseling. She is focused on common factors theory with clients at every age to build a strong therapeutic relationship where they can feel safe to collaborate on their goals.

Currently Adri has additional trainings in Play Therapy, expressive arts, experiential modalities, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Adri Larsen’s direct clinical experience is diverse. She has worked in busy adult outpatient services serving diverse client populations, she spent several years providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, teens and adults. She has experience working with families and adoption, unique challenges of military families, co-parenting, divorce and blended family dynamics, and has spent significant time working with parents and helping them navigate the hardest job in the world – parenting.
